Grand Canyon and a Bad Dog

#vanlife .

From Zion we drove to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon.  We passed a number of spots that we might be able to camp for free in the Kaibab National Forest but we were hoping for a spot in campground in the park.  When we arrived at the North Rim Campground they had a sign out saying “Full”.  So far in our travels we have stopped at 4 campgrounds with a full sign out and 3 of them had a site for us.

I checked with the ranger at the check in desk.  She stared at here screen intently, types a few things and said, “Well I have one site that was cancelled but it is only available for one night.  That was all we needed.  We were now 4 for 5 on full campgrounds.

The Grand Canyon is impressive form any angle – it is HUGE.  And its huge as far you can see.

One thing that disappointed me was the colors – they seemed washed out.  most likely any photos I have seen before had had pass through Photoshop to “enhance” them. There was also significant haze.  Unlike Montana this haze was likely care of Nevada and California pollution.

We moved on and Mrs Ram was able to meet one of here Face book Friends, Bad Dog.
