#vanlife .

So often we pass through Georgia, so few times do we stop here.  Our Journey north in 2018 and 2019 left us time to linger for a bit and see some sites.

Things to do

Atlanta – The World of Coca-Cola and CNN.  We managed to get free tickets to tour CNN but were not about to pay $17 each learn more about Coke.

Athens is a college town with plenty of bars but many did not open till late afternoon.

Augusta may be golf central but we suspect they would let us near any golf course there.  We opted for biking the tow path.

Savannah – A great to party!  Where else can you go and leave the bar with a drink in a “To Go” cup.

Okefenokee Swamp – Stopped by, kayak, commune with the alligators

Places to Stay

Eastbank Campground – this is just over the line from Florida Panhandle.

Stephen C. Foster State Campground – Named after a songwriter.  It is in the middle of the Okefenokee Swamp.

Gordonia-Altamaha – Golf and camp.

Strom Thurmond Lake north of Atlanta has lots of great Army Corp of Engineer campgrounds.  Modoc and Petersburg are worth considering.  Modoc is on the South Carolina side of the lake.
