I have hesitated writing about our stay in Vegas. We arrived on Sunday afternoon on October 1st 2017, took the shuttle from our hotel, the Rio, to the strip and wandered around just taking it all in.
A little after 9:30 pm after watching the water show at the Bellagio, Mrs Ram’s feet were hurting. Rather than walking further to Mandalay Bay, we grabbed the shuttle back to our hotel. In our hotel we thought we heard some sirens in the distance but assumed that was normal.
Around 5 am, our phones started buzzing, ringing and beeping. Our son had heard the news of the shooting at the Mandalay Bay and feared we may have been at that country music concert there. Fortunately sore feet kept us from being any where near it.
Our second day on the strip found people more subdued and lots of police everywhere. Many seemed to share our feelings of dismay and sadness and we overheard many conversations of people trying to understand what had happened.
Our third day we were up early and on the road to Tuscon as planned.
