Rams seeking warmth on the Gulf Coast

#vanlife .

When night time temps dip below freezing and day time temps are in the 40s, we know we are not far enough south.  We thought the Gulf Coast would be pleasant.  We were mistaken.

Rain and cold forced us into a Wingate in Sulphur LA and a Marriott Towneplace in Foley Alabama. We talked with Jordan and his son at the pool in Sulphur and he mentioned a friend that might have a place we can park Sparty in Alaska.

Weather improved enough for us to camp at the Blackwater Florida State Campground which had flat, crushed stone pads and full hookups for only $24.  We hit the bike trail there for a cool but sunny ride.

I managed to get in the picture – see me there on the right?

The following day was even nicer so we had a short drive to the beautiful Army COE Eastbank Campground, just over the line in Georgia.  For $24 you get a paved site with water, electricity, fire ring, and a table.  And the showers were hot and included.
