I always imagined planes were built from scratch at one factory with sone parts like seat and engines built by companies that specialize in them. I never expected that something as important as the body of the plane would be outsourced and shipped by rail.
I wonder if any are damaged along the way. And how many show up covered in grafiti like many of the box cars we see?
