If the weather had been nicer we would have planned on staying at the McKinney Falls State Park. It’s close to Austin, Texas with nice, mostly private sites. After surviving sub freezing temps in Big Bend, we opted for a Best Western for our Austin stay.
We did get out to see the McKinney Falls and we’re surprised by the trickle of water.
Pedernales Falls west of Austin was similar.
While admiring the McKinney Falls we chatted with Beverly and Jack, a couple that once lived in Newton, Mass. Like us they had tired of ice, snow, leaves and house maintenance. Their solution was a condo in Austin.
As always we enjoyed meeting people who have figured out their next step in life.
As for us, we continue our journey, always wondering what our next step will be.
