Oil appears to be the life blood of West Texas. We have looked out over fields of oil pumps as we traveled and the faint smell of oil seems like it is everywhere.
However we were surprised to find this oil pump sitting in the middle of the picnic area at the Monahans Sandhills State Park picnic area.
It did have a nice big warning sign.
