Petosky is one of those top places to visit in Michigan. They are famous for their stones that include fossilized patterns.
Parking in the downtown required feeding a meter. This led Mr Ram to search for alternate parking . Just two blocks away the town museum had free parking. We strolled the waterfront, saw the clock tower and lighthouse and walked the downtown.
There were trinket stores, many with things made in China, and art galleries. One store had Indian jewelry while others had clothes.
Some did have local and unique Michigan things. We found a puzzle in the Katydid store for a friend. And ice cream at Mudick’s was a treat.
Petosky was a nice little town and a pleasant stop. Yet our blase feelings about it left us wondering if we may be reaching some travel limit were things seem to blur together. Can one see too many things? Do you need more time to reflect between new places? Yet the road beckons us again. Maybe in another 1,000 miles or 20 stopovers, whichever comes first, we may ask these questions again.
