Just down the street from the Cadillac Ranch, is the Second Amendment Cowboy. He stands guard next to the entrance to the Cadillac RV Park.
Behind him were three Cadillacs. Each had a cherished American hero driving: Willie Nelson, Elvis and John Wayne.
The gift shop next to the Cowboy is definitely a Red State Stop. None of the items appeared suited to anyone with Blue State sensibilities.
We had heard of a “floating mesa” a few miles north of the Cowboy. This art installation sounded like it might be a good optical illusion with mirrors. It was not.
Rather than mirrors, the panels at one time may have been painted a color similar to the sky. Now they were a set of boards that one wondered if they should have advertisements on them. This is one roadside attraction that you can skip.
