We had to wait a week while they finished work on the place we rented in St Augustine. Cold with freezing temps had overrun us so camping out would not be comfortable.
Mrs Ram found a place for us in the European Village in Palm Coast that was not too expensive on AirBnB. It was a nice sunny spot next to bike and walking trails.
Despite the bone chilling cold we did get out on the hiking trails a few times.
The location also had something unexpected – a brew pub we could see from our window.
Down the elevator and 75 steps and you are in Moonrise Brewing.
They had just opened and had several craft beers on tap including an expresso Porter and a milk stout that we liked. They needed some additional permits before they could sell their own beer. We are keeping tabs on on their Facebook page so we can be there when they star serving their own beer.
We enjoyed talking to owners Ashley and Benjamin.
And made some new friends, Chris and Tami, who also hear the call of the open road. After the last storm, Irma, they are already in their 5th wheel.
