We landed in Beaver Crossing after passing up a not very attractive camp site in Seward. We found the Beaver Crossing camp area was great.
Took a dip in the the pool next door for $3 each. While we were in there though lightning strikes were seen not too far away so we did not get to stay in as long as we wanted. After dinner we took in a local little league game of the Bad News Beavers and Garland. A tornado warning ended that game early.
A woman from the fire department told us that one long blast from the siren would mean that a tornado was close. If we heard that we should head to the restrooms - that was the tornado shelter. They know a thing or two about tornados. In 2014 the town was devastated by one.
We headed back to our van and got our tarp down just before it really got crazy - hail was bouncing off the roof and the wind was rocking the van for about an hour. It settled down some after that but did rain for quite a while. Mrs Ram had trouble sleeping but I slept fine.
In the morning we found no damage to Sparty and started thinking of breakfast....
