Driving up US 81 Mrs Ram spotted a sign for the Brushy Creek Vineyard with tastings until 6 pm. It was already after 5:30 pm and, when we arrived, the door was locked.
We called the number on the door and the owner, Ann, drove over in golf cart from the house next door.
We shared 10 tastings while talking about our travels and our lives.
With 4 bottles of wine (including the Cactus Sweet and Trois Amis), one of them chilled, we were ready to head to our campground.
Ann said we did not need to go far if we didn’t want to. She was a member of Harvest Host and had a couple of flat spots for campers. And though we were not members, we had performed the most important requirement: We had bought wine.
Good wine and a flat place to camp – who can beat that?
