The Cadillac Ranch, set near Route 66 and now just off of I-40, is one of those now classic American Roadside attractions. We both wondered how we have manged to miss driving by it in the last 4 years.
The cars, now nearly completely stripped of original equipment, inspire those who stop to pick up a spray can and add to the colorful display. We could not resist that urge ourselves.
We were thankful another visitor reminded us to stand up wind of our spray cans. Otherwise we may have ended up painted green rather than the cars.
One might wonder if we had the forethought to bring a can of spray with us. We did not. There is trailer selling memorabilia and of course spray paint on the path to the cars. Others might wonder, “Mr Ram actually paid for a can of paint for this?” Nah, he found a can that had been left on the ground with paint still in it.
