We arrived late to Cap Rock State Park and checked in with the ranger in a white pickup that was driving around. We headed to our site and pulled up to back in when Melinda and Brian in the site across from ours started waving at us.
It seemed more than a friendly wave so we stopped before backing up.
It turned out one of the locals was not quite ready to let us nomads take the site.
He was making sure it was ready before we drove in. He made sure the grass was perfectly trimmed.
The last thing he checked was the water. He turned it on, tasted it, then he turned on full to ensure we had good flow
We did note that he was not water conscious. He left the water running when he was done.
Finally the site was ready for us.
