Years ago we stopped in Jerome, a artists community on the side of a mountain above Clarksdale. We enjoyed walking the town, checking out the art stores and tasting wine. We had stopped at Tracy Weisel’s La Victoria Studio and liked how light weight his ceramic cups were. However at the time we had no place for ceramic cups.
This year we returned to pick out our cups.
We also wandered into Mimi’s and chatted with Mimi and her husband. She had retired from developing the artwork for videogames.
We enjoyed hearing her talk about how she had to set each color cell. She had a display of the code that displayed the Coyote and Road Runner.
In their companion store, the House of Joy, we did find some fun we had not had in years… Ok decades. And No it is not still a brothel.
They had working video games of Galaga and Asteroids. That took both of us back to our college days.
I missed your travel musings. So glad to read through them again. I can live my life vicariously through both of you!
Remember, when in Houston, stop by.
