Firelands Winery

#vanlife .

After an extended stay in New England we finally headed west. After a long day of driving and an overnight stay at the Fedonia, NY Walmart and the more driving, we were ready for a break.

One of the only wineries between Cleveland and Toledo that was open before noon(*) was the Firelands Winery. Finding a bottle of wine to go with lunch sounded about right.

Heather greated us from behind the bar. She gave us insight on the wine and owners and her enthusiasm encouraged us to taste a second flight. At only $1 per shared sample the tasting was affordable.

That second flight was from their sister winery in Italy.

Mr Ram was drawn to the $5 wine but in the end we chose the Sauvingnon Blanc which was on sale for $9.99 and two $14 wines.

The two flights left us with a buzz so we had a wineless lunch a kept those bottles for the road.

* What does that say about us if we are looking for a winery before noon…
