Over a decade ago we stopped at the Hollywood Broadwalk with friends while on a combined work/pleasure trip. It was a great spot to walk for a bit before heading to the Ft Lauderdale airport.
While heading to the Florida Keys, we thought to stop here again to stretch our legs on this trip.
Sparty without the Kayaks on the roof (or as I say sometimes, without his orange hunting hat) is just a touch over 8′ tall. Most garages are a no-go for him so an outside lot or street parking are our options. In Hollywood, though the street parking and the parking lot are often only a few feet apart, there is huge different in cost. Parking on New Hampshire Street for about 5 hours cost under $11. Parking in the nearby lot would have been $30.
We walked the entire 2 mile length of the Broadwalk. There was only one bar that had music at two in the afternoon.
We did like the sound of the air drummer accompanying this musician.
However we did get to enjoy other music on the Broadwalk. Several bikers had their phone in cupholders that helped the sound. Others resorted to blue tooth speakers to amplify their music. One used an amplifier to belt out the words along with the music. We were tempted to give him money to stop singing.
The best music was just beyond the Broadwalk. This violinist chose the sidewalk of the nearby parking lot. Despite this his beautiful music drew people in and his tip bucket was full.
(I suspect a few reading this have thought, “Mr Ram misspelled boardwalk.” Its not a boardwalk, its a broadwalk….
… and I suspect I will get in trouble if I say anything about Mrs Ram walking along here;)
