Its Wine O’clock

#vanlife .

After leaving the Produce Clock, I wondered, “Do we needed a wine clock?”  That answer is of course no.  Anytime is a good time for wine.  However, unlike beer, there are no advertised “Breakfast” wines.

We avoided more traffic on I-77 by paying some exorbitant Express Lane tolls – it was nearly $20!  Of course they plan this by adding extra toll lanes and limiting free lanes.  Toss in a minor accident and its a mess with lots of wasted time, gas and additional pollution into the air.  And of course lots of extra toll money.

When we exited I-77 we found pleasant back roads in rolling hills.  There were also sing for horse and carriages.  And we rolled up behind one with a young, Amish couple out for a ride.  Mr Ram resited the urge to go around them and waited until the reached the nearby interesection to turn off.

We stopped at the Shadow Springs Vinyard where Jamie poured several wines for us.  We sat sampling them and quizzing each other about wine terms, most of which we did not know.  We opted for their Strawberry Shortcake and Seyval Blanc.

An unexpected bonus was another winery just across the street, Windsor Run Cellars.  There Lisa explaned that two of their popular wines included sparkling glitter.  We opted to try their non-glitter wines and chose a bottle of Traminette for the road along with a brick of Mango Habenero cheese.

As for that Breakfast Beer?  That would be a breakfast stout.
