This camping area run by the Army Corps of Engineers is squeezed into fairly small area and nearly all of the camping spots are wide open. Nearly all campsites are level so we didn’t need to use the levelers. The water pressure in the showers were very good. You can take a nice long shower and there is adequate hot water.
The downside here it’s wide open and that the hydro plant by the dam does make a a enough noise to be annoying anytime you are sitting outside. Cost is 20 dollars the with no additional fees.
You can get a bundle of wood just over the bridge for 3 dollars and 50 cents. It was enough for an evening fire. We like the sites by the babbling brook. The downside is you are closer to that hydro noise. There is also a place to go fishing and you don’t need a fishing permit.
Other items to note – Youghiogheny lake on other side of dam. There is another Corp campground up there that might be worth trying.
