We had expected to stay at the campground at the Clif Dwellings. Seeing the smoke from the Johnson Fire at the Clif Dwellings made us think we wanted a few mountains between us and the Clif dwellings. The fire crews were staying in the campgrounds nearby so we had to move on.
Roberts Lake looked like a good spot with several campgrounds though none has showers. We choses a non-electric site at the Mesa Campground.

The next day we had a great paddle and discovered that the lake was larger than it first appeared.
We were warned to paddle clear of the turbines which added air to the water for the fish to breath.
