We came to Lexington KY looking for horses and found some sturdy examples at the Thoughrobred park in downtown.
We stopped at the Arboretum for a pleasant walk but struggled to get away from the leaf blowers and school groups.
Just north of Lexington is the Toyota manufacturing plant. We were able to get an afternoon tour and were impressed with how well the factory was run. It was surprising that they assembled the doors to the car, painted it and then removed the doors. This made interior assembly easier and faster. Doors were reunited with their car shortly before starting the car up. Sadly they did not allow pictures.
Mr Ram had thought staying in Kentucky Horse Park Campground would be a great stop. Apparently so did everyone else and there were no sites left. We snagged a room at a Best Western that had pool ending our longest run in the van at 25 nights.
The next day Mrs Ram found more horses at the Kentucky Horse Park. A $10 off Groupon dropped the cost for both of us to $30
We headed for Lovers Leap winery and were kept at the edge of our seats navigating the one lane roads and bridges. For $8.50, Brittany let us sample 6 wines. Both of us enjoyed the Win,Place, Show white. A couple bottles for the road and we were off to Louisville.
