Since we were passing by several campgrounds on our way to Sault Saint Marie, we figured we should grab a campsite first.
Kinross had two town campgrounds, East and West. The East one was described as more traditional RV like – not our usual choice. Despite having minimal privacy, the East campground was better kept and more inviting than the west.
We met Jeanine, the camp host, when we stopped at the information board. She said to pick out any open site and she would tag it for us. After going through the entire campground we choose the site across from the information board next to Jeanine
We enjoyed her golden retriever, Zoe. She was a great looking and very friendly and excitable. We also liked the breeze bthat kept the mosquitoes away.
We met several great people here including Rich a retired prison guard. Jim and his wife have been travelling for 30 years after getting out of his bicycle business in Maine.
Stacy and Robert had travelled for several years and then settled in Montana. A few years past and that wanderlust struck again. They traded their house in for a big class A motorhome and sought cooler climates, trains and planes.
At times we wonder how long we can stay nomads. Our experience in Petosky and a few other places have us wondering. Yet the stories of people here in RV East encourage us to not curtail our travels too soon.
