While visiting her friend, Mrs Ram wanted to stop by the Michigan State Museum. I thought this was great idea. I expected to learn more about the universities roots as an agricultural college, its friendly rivalry with The University of Michigan and its bitter rivalry with Ohio State. I thought there might displays of distinguished alums such as quarterback Nick Foles, Magic Johnson or Tom Bodet of Motel 6. Or possibly there would be tales of undergraduate hi-jinks.
Parking in front of the museum was only $2 with a pass you bought in the gift shop.
Inside I was surprised to find a more traditional museum extolling the painstaking process of preservivng artifacts. There were interesting displays on evolution, odd art and large animal skeletons.
I did learn than unscrupulous loggers would intercept logs floating down stteam, cut the marked ends off of competitors logs and remark them as there own.
As this is a college campus and it is the 21st century, there was a trigger warning sign in case I might find the artwork offensive.
