We had tickets for the Calgary Stampede. That lead us do something we rarely do when we are traveling and camping – we made a reservation.
The campground had one of the key thing Mrs Ram cannot live without on an extended stay – showers.
We had what they called a tent site. For us it was a flat place to park with electricity.
The closeness of the sites in a typical RV campground meant we got to know our neighbors. The ones next to us were from British Columbia and Playa del Carmen. The RVs across from us were from north of Calgary. We enjoyed happy hour with our neighbors Terry and Illa.
The day after checking in we headed to the stampede. In the late afternoon we received a call from the camp saying, “Your not coming back are you?”
“Yes. Yes we are.” When we paid for five nights, we asked if we needed to leave anything on the site while we’re gone. They had said no so we did not set much up the first night.
Since our site was empty a different person decided we were not coming back and let someone else set up on it. By the time we returned they had moved that person to a different site.
The next time we went out we left a table to hold our site.
