Prescott has a great down town area with many antique and art shops. After a stop at the Granite Brewery, we celebrated our 30rh anniversary at one of the best Italian restaurants we have been at in a long time, PaPa’s (uptown) Italian Restaurant.
Watson Lake gave us a chance to rent kayaks and and head out on the water. For $20 we were out for a two hour tour.
Unlike many lakes in the west this one had interesting rock formations that had us wondering what was around every corner.
On our second visit to Prescott, we camped just outside of town at the White Spar campground for $14. Camphosts Roy and Suzanne directed us to one of the few open sites available on a Friday afternoon.
The forest service had been thinking of closing the section we were in. We were thankful they hadn’t. The rest of the campground was full.
We stopped at Papa’s one more time and Watson Lake. It was too windy too kayak but we did get showers there.
Sadly our footstool decided it really like Watson Lake Park. We had reached Navajo National Monument when we realized it had jumped ship.
