We have ridden portions of the Tammany Trace Bike Trail in Louisiana before. This time we chose a trailhead in Mandevile since it had a brew pub next to it.
Heading west from the Mandeville rail had a couple of road crossing but little traffic so we had a pleasant ride on the flat trail. After returning to our van Sparty and securing the bikes, we had a short walk to the old Rail Brewery.
Our waiter was young, Mrs Ram thought he was possibly too young to be serving beer. But he did return with our drinks so we were not going to complain. When we asked about the history of the brewery he had no idea. The website talked about the rail history of the area and that the brewmaster was hired from The Abita Brewery. So it seemes this was much more a resteraunt with a brewery theme than a passion of brewing beer for the owner.
Sill the stout and New England IPA were good and the pork dinner that we split was delicious,
