We met friends from Albuquerque and headed north form Santa Fe towards Taos. We stopped at several wineries and found several wines that we liked. None of them had a perfect set of wines so we did not decide to take up residence at any of them.
We picked up a Woodnymph Riesling and Abiquiu White at the Black Mesa Winery.
At Vivac we liked the red wine Zuccaro.
Our last stop was La Chiripada where we enjoyed their 2015 Vinters Reserve Red and their Reserve Riesling. We also liked that we could any wine we wanted to for a donation rather a fixed number of wines for $8.
From there we headed to Taos center. At this point small touristy towns are a blur of small art and trinket stores. We passed over the Rio grand and then down into the canyon. We we glad we were in our friends truck rather than in Sparty.
