Casper on the Mountain

#vanlife .

A large Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck.

That was enough to bring us in for lunch at Sandfords in Casper, WY. The inside was fun too.

Often we will split a meal.  However, we arrived hungry and let out stomachs order for us.  Of course the portions here were huge and we ate way too much.

Overfull now, we headed up Casper Mountain in search of an overnight camping spot.  The campground had a number of camping areas and a board that gave us some information.  Mostly it said go on to the Natrona County website to select a campsite.  Internet cell service for T-mobile was spotty so we had to use our X-finity phone on Verizon cell towers to call them.  The woman told us where there were sites available but insisted we had to make the reservation using the website.  And of courser you need to set up an account.  And setting up an account requires you to fill in all kinds of info.  Then you allowed to re-log in and finally search for a site.

Now we have another account and login that we will likely never use again.

It took over a half an hour for us to figure out what was required, complete our login, find a site, and pay for it.  An envelope with a $10 bill and a tag on the post was so much easier and faster.

It was a beautiful site with no one anywhere near us.  Apparently its not very busy during a late June mid week stay.  Sitting outside we noticed a lot of traffic on this remote camp road.  We did not realize that the camp road doubled as access to a number of houses on the mountain.  We had lots of traffic… and dust.

And that massive lunch at Sanfords did not sit very well overnight.  As Mr Ram ran to the pit toilet in the middle of the night, he regretted the decision to choose a site so far away.
