PA – Horses, Antiques and Wine

#vanlife .

We started out in the afternoon on our trip from Spring City and made our way south and west.  Our first stop was the Lil Country Store and Miniature Horse Farm.  The stand had some reasonably priced wood furniture but no one around to ask about it.  The miniature horses were not overly friendly.  A couple had recently had babies making them mini-miniature horses.  One of the larger horses took a liking to my fleece and tried to take a bite out of it.  Mrs Ram came over and convinced him it was not as tasty as he thought.

We found a large antiques store Tollbooth in a old mill with many reasonably priced items.  We wandered around the two floors seeing a number of things we once had or our parents had which were now classified as antiques:  A view master, a folding rule, a metal doll house.

On to  a wonderful little winery called Moondancer Vineyard and Winery.  It turns out they were closed but the owner was there with some friends so he let us in for a tasting.  We bought a bottle of Pinot Grigio and had some cold left over pizza on their patio.  We had a great view of the Susquehanna River and hung out there for over an hour.

At this point we knew we would not make our final destination, a campsite in the Michaux Forest.  A quick search of Google turned up a small campground not too far away – Indian Rock Campground.  Its not bad for an overnight stay but the sites are wide open.

We passed a house shaped like a shoe on our way there and stopped to snap a few pictures.
