A failed dream becomes an attraction

#vanlife .

Dances with Wolves actor Kevin Costner had a dream of building a big hotel on an overlook outside of Deadwood.  As part of the project he commissioned a massive multi-part statue of how Indians hunted buffalo by driving them off a cliff.

The view is spectacular at the location but for some reason they never built the hotel.  Now Costner had these multi-million dollar buffalo and no hotel to build around them.

So he decided to have a museum just for the buffalo and called it Tatanka.(Lakota for buffalo)  They are impressive but not worth the $18 we paid to get in.

The artist depiction of this event is spectacular and though expensive I’m glad we visited here.  The museum does need work as Mr. Ram suggested.  The view from this art installation is WOW! too bad the hotel didn’t get built.  We probably wouldn’t want to afford it anyways.

Notes to Kevin:

  1. Cut your speech in the video at least in half.  You ramble on way too long.
  2. Lots of interesting things laying around inside the museum but no descriptions on them.  Add some descriptions
  3. Have you been there lately? Your museum needs some maintenance.
