We passed many fields with straw rolls on the way to the Badlands and some filled with piles of bales. We were thinking you could probably make a building with them.
In Cody, NE we found a store that was built from bales - The Circle C Market. Not sure how well it will hold up over time or if bugs would enjoy moving in. But it is interesting to see people using local materials.
