We stopped and hit the bike trails in Waco and in Austin.
In Waco people seemed happier. Walkers said hi and making a little room on the trail seemed natural to everyone.
On the Austin trails no one said hi. We did talk to another couple with a van and bicycles but they seemed the exception. I guess Austin is the big city where you do not say hi to strangers.
