We thought our campsite at the Hiawatha RV Resort would be an escape from the craziness of the Big City of Kelowna. It had laundry, showers, a pool and a hot tub. It had “resort” in the name. And it was over $50 a night for a flat spot with no power or water.
People were great and check in was easy. However the site was small with little room to your nrighbors. And kids quickly filled the pool and hot tub in the evening.
Mrs Ram was amazed to see someone with a massive 5th wheel enter the park and make the hairpin turn at the end of the campground. They then threaded a needle by squeezing that huge trailer into the site next to us. Then they had to decide between putting out their slides or the awning.
Like us they had planned on staying for nearly a week. And like us they left the next morning.
From looking at several other RV parks and reading online reviews, the tight spacing is not uncommon here.
I contacted a few campgrounds that had good reviews and more room. They did not call me back. Apparently they were warned about us.
So if you are looking for a good place to camp here, read those reviews carefully, scrutinize the pictures of the campgrounds, make your reservations early and don’t use us as reference.
