The FloraBama Lounge and Package is located in Florida right on the line with Alabama and on the beach. It’s the perfect place for a drink , listen to music and … go to church?
I had read about this bar/church so we stopped in on a Sunday morning at 9 am. Yes the bar was open but it was off to the side. I had thought about the best drink for church service. A Bloody Mary did seem appropriate. Maybe a mimosa? Coffee with Bailey’s? Wine… Jesus made wine so that seemed like good choice. In the end we opted for drinks and breakfast after the service.
The band had an upbeat rockabilly sound and I was surprised when i thought they were playing Double Vision by Foreigner. When I listen closely the words were Holy Vision.
They played a few more songs before pastor Dan started his long but interesting sermon. He touched on several things like CEO Christian, craziness of the week before Christmas and opinions about he use if binkiis.
His main focus was how disappointment sucks hope from us. True hope comes from Christ and he asked us to be carriers of God’s hope.
After the service Mrs Ram found other Michigan State fans. Pride, of the cooking duo of Country and Pride, as well as Mark and Sue.
Mark made sure we had an up to date copy of the Mullet Wrapper. The Wrapper has all the happenings in the FloraBama area.
With spirits up-lifted and feeling full we headed west.
