Buffalo WY and Monument Valley were two places associated with TV shows and movies that we have visited. The Alberta town of High River is known to most fans of the CBC TV show Heartland as Hudson.I somehow got hooked on the Canadian TV series Heartland because it’s about horses and they have great actors. I know it’s filmed near Calgary but didn’t know that High River actually has the Maggie’s diner.
I was disappointed to learn upon going to High River that it is only a movie set, not a working diner. I did peak in the windows and it looked like it should be open. Someone is missing a great tourist attraction by not actually letting people grab a cup of coffee and a slice of peach pie.I did enjoy this quaint little town with the piano outside for anyone to play with 2 young gentlemen playing some tunes. They weren’t too bad either!
