When we were younger each of our houses had a junk drawer in the kitchen. When we owned a house, our kitchen always had a junk drawer. For all of the organization that you can have there are always things that somehow could not be sorted. That odd screw, clip, key or book of matches needed a home.
When we were talking to friends while we were back in Mass we mentioned that our van Sparty had a junk drawer. They were surprised that in our tiny home we had made room for a junk drawer. To us it seemed normal.
When we built our van, the cabinet we installed had two drawers. One drawer has our utensils, plates, bowls and ziplock bags.
The other draw has everything else.
