We toyed with the idea of taking one of those on and off tour trolley tours but Mrs Ram could not see spending $90 for it. Mr Ram found an app for $10 that he initially thought would be a guide to the town. It actually covered the entire keys and was best used driving from Key Largo. (If you do want this guide, download it before you reach the keys)
We parked just outside of the pay to park zone on South St and started at the end of the tour – the Southern Most Point and followed the tour backwards. We climbed the light house stairs and had a view of the entire Key.
From there we could see the Keys Mt Trashmore – supposedly the highest point on the keys.
We passed by the Tennessee House and Hemingway House. Neither had much interest to us and both had entrance fees. The Hemingway House also had cats, lots and lots of cats. Way too many cats for Mr. Ram
We wandered by the Truman White house and snapped a picture of his 1950 Lincoln Presidential Limousine.
We ended our day at a bar – The Bull. The bar tender Debra at times was overwhelmed but took good care of us as we sat at the bar.
The singer Derek Dunbar would add a “Ding – Welcome” every time someone entered the bar, even in the middle of a song. He also called out people who walked in, used the bathroom and then left without tipping him or ordering a drink.
We also learned that an empty beer 12 pack made a great mask
And no that is not Mr Ram.
