Key West – Where to Stay

#vanlife .

Searching for a place to stay in Key West is not easy or inexpensive. Our first thought was to pay the $15 parking fee at the Airport and just spend overnight there. The people at Seaplane Adventures said that others who have tried that have been kicked out.

Then maybe we thought a tent site in a campground would work. Quotes of over $100 per night made us think, “Why not just rent a hotel room?” Then we got prices for hotel rooms. They started at $250. Suddenly that $100 campsite did not seem so crazy.

In the end we stayed at the Boyd’s Key West Campground on a waterfront tent site.

These sites were nice but tight so you could easily hear what was happening in the next site. From what we could hear the couple beside us on the first night must have been newlyweds.
