We parked Sparty by the UT Rec Complex and cycled into to World’s Fair Park. We had some great views of the Tennessee River and some not so great smells from the nearby sewage treatment plant.
The Sun Sphere, built for 1982 World’s Fair dominates the park. We and our bikes took the free elevator ride to the top and enjoyed the view.
We cycled a few more blocks to Market Square area and had lunch outside at the Market House Cafe. There was little else happening on a pleasant Tuesday afternoon so we cycled back to our van.
Some of the best fried chicken we have had was at Chandlers Deli the next day.
