Our first National Road went right by Fort Necessity to help people reach the wild west of Ohio and beyond. We past several of the toll houses along the way and a number of the mile markers.
We stopped to take a closer look at a well-preserved mile markers only to discover it was essentially a plastic sign attached to a metal post.
