We had posted about things we have lost since we started traveling and have ways if minimizing the chances of loosing more things.
One item on that list has had a long history of hiding rather than taking off for good – my scarf.
When did I get that scarf? I honestly do not recall. I think it went with me to college. So like me, it is old.
It has had numerous episodes of hiding in jackets that hang unused, stuffed in corners of trunks and disappearing somewhere in our house for extended periods.
I thought it had disappeared for good on a flight to Cleveland. After I had deplaned, I realized I did not have my scarf. I hurried back to the gate and asked if they had found my scarf as they cleaned the plane. Sadly they had not.
I spent the week in Cleveland surveying stores. On my return to Boston I wondered if maybe I had left it the US Airways lounge. When they pulled out the lost and found box it was right there.
So when it turned up missing after Moab I was quite sad. We searched the van but there are few places to hide in such a tiny box. Along time companion had left. I called the campground to see if maybe it had been turned in. It had not.
I consoled myself that it was just a thing and could be replaced.
Over a week later I was rearranging our bedding and my scarf just fell out. I was surprised and immediatly put it on. When Mrs Ram came back it took her nearly a half hour to notice my once missing scarf.
So a reminder that we should not obsess about things or things lost. And a surprise reunion with an scarf I would prefer not to loose.
