As we rolled out of our campsite headed for Telluride, the tire pressure light came on. We stopped on the gravel road and discovered the passenger front tire was flat. I got out my bike pump again and started pumping away. With tired arms and wheezing breaths I managed to get to 40 psi. It’s supposed to be 65 psi.
We headed north for a gas station the camphost said was nearby. Sparty did not drive well and we worried especially as we climbed up and down the mountains.
Changing that low tire for the spare seemed like a better choice. We found a flat spot on pavement and then looked through the instructions for changing a tire.
Surprisingly the first step of cranking the spare down was easy.
Lug nuts on the flat tire were tough and Mr Ram was happy a couple from Florida offered to help. Originally from NH. John easily started the nuts off. Mr Ram clearly needs to do some strength training.
Finally done, we noticed that our flat, paved spot also had a great view.
Thanks again to John and his wife.
