On December 14th Sparty found a new home.
His ad in Facebook Marketplace and on Campervan finally connected him with Deborah, a fellow Floridian and experienced traveler, who like us was looking to downsize. Deborah’s travels had been in a much larger class A. She was excited at how nimble and well behaved Sparty was.
Of course there are some adjustments. Sparty will be sporting some nice, shiny running boards soon. Sparty has also changed allegiance and now supports the University of Kentucky Wildcats.
And Sparty will likely have a new name. Deborah has considered a couple of names but has not settled on one yet. I had often felt like I was piloting a Jawas’ Sandcrawler when driving Spraty so The Beast makes some sense. We found it took nearly 6 months for us to understand our van’s name.
We wish our old van and Deborah well with their adventures together.
Sparty’s new name is the Chimoble. My 2 chihuahuas, Lady & Sugar, insisted on that name and they have claimed the Chimoble as their own. The passenger seat is theirs. It is the perfect size for them to stretch out when they want to sleep, but also tall enough to see the world through the side window & the front windshield. They have located their collapsable water dish in the middle cup holder in the front since it is the perfect height. They give the Chimoble 4 paws up!
