The Crystal Palace was built in 1887 to display flora and fauna from the Philippines.
Now this large, glass box sits deep in the middle of the huge Parque de El Retiro. The maps showed that ir was not that far a walk from the Prado. What maps did not show was that it was all uphill.
When we arrived Mrs Ram was exhausted but still up for a picture.
What disappointed both of us was that such a wonderful space was empty.
At least the walk back to the train station was nearly all down hill. We wished we had brought a scooter for that like this woman had.
