We had been to the the San Antonio River Walk over a decade ago when Mr Ram attended an FMI conference. For this visit, we parked at 5$ Parking which has someone on site and was less than a block from access to the River Walk.
After enjoying an afternoon stroll on the river, we looked for spot for a beer and snack. The Lone Star Cafe offered $3 beer and wine and$4 appetizers which was more than enough to entice us up stairs to their deck. Our waiter, Ronald, was animated and entertaining. We were thinking he could have a future in entertainment.
After several happy hour drinks, with the sun below the horizon, we were ready for a River Walk cruise. We had no line but a nearly full boat as we pull out for our ride. The boat captain filled us in on different highlights like the Hilton hotel built off-site in pieces and transported in and stacked to speed construction and the tiny island that brings lovers good luck.
We did have a great view of the Christmas lights.
Her most useful insight was about the Brisco Western Art Museum. It was free on Tuesday after 4 pm.
The art collection was smaller than we had expected so we were glad we came when admission was free. Mr Ram did like the wagon and windmill.
