When we were young, we both remember our parents emptying the freezer and turning it off to get rid of ice. Pans of hot water or hair dryers usually helped speed up the process.
In college, Mr Ram tried to avoid defrosting his ancient, 5 case of beer refrigerator. Of course he ended up with a clean up fee when his freezer slowly defrosted when it was in summer storage.
Our small Truckfridge in our van Sparty is one of those full frost models. After a few weeks in humid areas, Mrs Ram was having trouble closing the freezer door.
It was time to defrost.
We emptied our footstool and placed the contents of our fridge into it.
Our pans would not fit in the tiny freezer and Mrs Ram did not have a hair dryer. Our electric heater had to fill in for this task
After about 20 minutes, our refrigerator was soon clear of ice and filled with food again.
