Crazy Woman Drive

#vanlife .

First I want to make clear that I am not talking about Mrs. Ram or her driving.

Crazy Woman Canyon Road was listed as one of those scenic, must-do drives in the Bighorn Mountains. We chose option b from the GPS and it reinforced what we had begun to suspect out here – leave the interstates and you are likely to be on gravel roads.

After 30 minutes of bouncing and dust, we were about to enter the Bighorns.  What was a nice wide gravel road quickly dipped down into the rocks and trees and then rose as a one lane dirt and rock path.  I had been expecting a nice two lane, paved road with turn-outs to take pictures.

The views of rocks and water falls were fantastic. So was the up close look of calm and panicked drivers going the other direction. The calm ones must have been locals.  On one stretch where it was slightly wider than one vehicle Mrs. Ram and a truck seemed destined to trade paint and for us to bounce off the rocks while tilted sideways.  Luckily both of our trucks mirrors folded in and we just missed that big rock.  Needless to say we took a break for lunch shortly after that.

Sorry to say I took no pictures on this road.  I was one of those people with the panicked looks.  Mrs Ram was driving – ok so the first line of this post might not be quite accurate…

Mrs Ram’s Rebuttal – I did a great job driving.  I didn’t hit anything except you for that comment!
