In Wyoming after leaving Buffalo, WY we detoured to see if we might catch a glimpse of the DeSmet Lake Monster. Never heard of him before? Check out a “documentary” here.
We found the lake and enjoyed a cooling dip but not see any signs of the monster.
This is where we first noticed that some lakes in the west are very different from we are usually see. We expect lakes surround by trees. Lake DeSmet is surround by prairie land and despite there be lots of water in the lake it is very dry around it.
From here we were off to find Petrified Trees, Saddles and Dinosaurs.
